Drafting Shards of Alara (SCA) Walkthrough Part 2 May 13, 2009Posted by James in : all , 4comments
Pack one gave me very few green cards (Qasali Ambusher and Naturalize), and only one red card worth mentioning (Resounding Thunder). At this point I should stay flexible about what to pick. I am currently in Naya, but I could easily change to Bant or Esper. (more…)all, strategy, tips, limited, draft , 7comments
In order to better understand the best way of drafting, it can be a good idea to take a look at the thought process involved when drafting Shards of Alara/Conflux/Alara Reborn. I have simulated a draft using Magic Workstation, and I will show you the thought process that I used when deciding what to pick. This is relatively easy to splash, so that alone isn’t going to make you want to play a green white deck. (But it can help you decide to play green or white.) (more…)
How Ebay’s Prostores Failed May 3, 2009Posted by James in : all, reviews , 1 comment so far
I have an ebay store that sells magic decks.
Selling on ebay is super expensive. You pay about 20% of all money you make to ebay, which means if you make 20% profit you are making no money. This isn’t the best way to make money, so it is a good idea to open a webstore for your business (if you have one.) Ebay created Prostores to make it easy to sell items with your own webstore. So easy that people can buy your ebay items from your prostore website. (more…)
Alara Reborn Review Part 5: Constructed May 3, 2009Posted by James in : all , 10comments
If you are going to make a deck for tournament play, you will probably want to know if Alara Reborn will have an impact. Unlike Shards of Alara and Conflux, a good deal of Alara Reborn cards are very powerful, and not just the rares. Many commons are certainly going to be played in constructed tournaments. Here is my top 10 list for constructed tournaments. At least some of these cards will be seen in standard tournaments: (more…)
