This is an older article and has been replaced by a newer one found here.

Naya (green-white-red) is probably my favorite color combination, but the mono green cards in Shards aren’t very good. I would be tempted to play a white-red deck with a splash of green, but there are a few factors that would prevent this. One, the best green card is mana fixing, and you don’t want to splash mana fixing. Two, the best 3-color Naya cards have a very low mana cost, so it is necessary to play all of the colors almost equally. You want to draw all three colors by the third turn.

Naya Deck (green-white-red)

4 Akrasan Squire
4 Oblivion Ring
4 Druid of the Anima
4 Manaplasm
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Steward of Valeron
4 Branching Bolt
4 Sarkhan Vol
4 Woolly Thoctar
4 Naya Panorama
4 Jungle Shrine
2 Savage Lands
2 Seaside Citadel
6 Forest
3 Plains
3 Mountain

It is possible that this deck would be better with more green-white. Sarkhan Vol could be replaced with Qasali Ambusher and Branching Bolt could be replaced with Sigil Blessing. The problem is that I would rather make more use of red. The best multicolor card for these colors is Wooly Thoctar, which is best early game. If you are going to get red early game anyway, there should be some great red cards that can be used.
